Several episodes of my podcasts have been posted lately.

Teen Wolf Bites

Episode 125 of the Nerd Lunch Podcast was posted last week to much acclaim. It features the final week in our Atomic Weeks celebration in which we are celebrating the Atomic Geeks’ 250th episode by having each member of the show as guests.  This final week has Digio as our guest and we are talking about breakfast cereals. We talk about our favorite cereals, mascots and commercials. We even take a moment to create our own cereal based on a pop culture property. It’s a fun episode, check it out on iTunes, Stitcher or listen to it online here.

Cult Film Club vs Nerd Lunch

This week, episode 126 features a crossover between Cult Film Club and the Nerd Lunch Podcast.  You may remember that all of us met up in Atlanta last month.  While we spent our time eating and drinking our way through the city, we did actually sit down and record a podcast.  And it has now gone live.  It’s our annual Summer Preview episode where we all talk about movies that we are excited to see in the coming months.  It’s a lot of fun.  Check it out on iTunes, Stitcher or listen to it online here.

Harold Ramis

And, in a bit of synergy, Shawn, Jaime and I have finally started recording Season 2 of the Cult Film Club podcast. The first episode is up in which we pay tribute to the great Harold Ramis by looking at three of his most famous and cult-y flicks; Stripes, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day.  So click the RIP image above and listen to the awesome Episode 13 of The Cult Film Club Podcast.

Oh yes, and this is my 800th post on the Cavalcade.  You’re welcome, Internet.

Nerd Lunch Podcast

This is week 3 of our Atomic Weeks in which we are celebrating the upcoming episode 250 of our friends The Atomic Geeks. This week we are joined by Christian Nielsen in order to discuss late night talk shows.

We talk about our history watching these shows and then we start discussing our favorite and least favorite hosts.  There are several “geek confession” style reveals and we all espouse our mutual love of Conan O’Brien.  Lots of fun to be had, plus, check out the intro to the show this week.  It may be one of the best we’ve ever done.

The Nerd Lunch and Cult Film Club crews invade Atlanta

Roadtrip

This past weekend the members of the Nerd Lunch Podcast and the Cult Film Club podcast descended on Atlanta for a meetup.  This was the first time several of us had seen each other in real life.  Here are some photos commemorating this historic nerdy and cultish event.

The first place we all went together was, of course, The World of Coke.

Here I am at the entrance to the World of Coke getting photobombed by CT.

Surprisingly, the museum actually had a small display dedicated to New Coke, of which you know I’m obsessed.

Nerd Lunch Episode 121: Fan Fiction Reviews IV

Posted in podcast, pop culture with tags , , on March 4, 2014 by Paxton

Nerd Lunch Podcast

This week on Nerd Lunch we are joined by returning guest Claymation Werewolf and first time guest Miss M from Diary of a Dorkette.  We are also returning to one of our favorite topics here on Nerd Lunch, Fan Fiction Review.  We first did this topic back in episode 18 and then followed it up in episode 62 and then it returned again when the Atomic Geeks took over our show for episode 95.  There is so much material to mine with these Fan Fiction Reviews.  Seriously.  So much fun.

Young Guns Forever poster 2

This week we change up our approach a little bit. You’ll have to listen to find out how, but it’s a lot of fun.

Here are links to the stories we discuss from FanFiction.net

The Special Cheese (Chef!/Rastamouse crossover)
Adora and the Golden Book (She-Ra)
World Without Tomorrow (Star Trek: TNG)
Young Guns Forever (Young Guns/Dracula crossover)

Nerd Lunch Episode 119: Board Games

Posted in podcast, pop culture with tags , , , on February 18, 2014 by Paxton

Nerd Lunch Podcast

Welcome to episode 119 of the Nerd Lunch Podcast.  This week we are joined by my Cult Film Club co-host Jaime Hood (ShezCrafti) to talk all about board games.

Red October board game

We discuss our favorite board games and we discuss, of course, our least favorite board games (looking at you, Monopoly). We discuss board games we wish we had when we were growing up and we even have a lengthy discussion on licensed board games based on movie and TV properties.   Lots of fun had by all and I edited in a bunch of old board game commercials.  You have to hear the Crossfire commercial.  And I’ve also had the Pizza Party commercial jingle in my head for the last week.
