Nerd Lunch Podcast

Tomorrow is officially Ninja Day. So in celebration, the Nerd Lunch Podcast has invited Jaime from shezcrafti.com to join us for a discussion of one of the greatest 80s ninja movies of all time, Ninja III: The Domination.

Ninja 3 V8

We talk a little about the movie’s origins, our own experiences with it and the awesomeness that is Sho Kosugi in an eyepatch.  So if you love ninjas possessing young, sweaty aerobics instructors, ridiculously hairy boyfriends and crates of V8 juice, then you’ll love our discussion of Ninja III: The Domination.

I’m going to be a part of a new podcast called Cult Film Club. Like Nerd Lunch, it’ll be a part of The Atomic Geeks Podcasting Network.

My co-hosts are Shawn Robare from Branded in the 80s and Jaime from shezcrafti.com.  Click here to learn a little bit more about your hosts.

Shawn Monster Squad

Jaime Sonja

The podcast will be monthly and feature the three of us talking about weird, obscure cult movies from the 60s, 70s and beyond.  We’ll talk about the stars, the sets, the soundtracks and whether or not the movie deserves the title of “Cult Classic”.  We have a great lineup of movies we can’t wait to watch and talk about with you.

Our very first episode will go live on Wednesday.  If you want to hear what movie we’ll be talking about in that episode, take a listen to tomorrow’s all new, Ninja Day episode of the Nerd Lunch Podcast.

You can check out Cult Film Club online at CultFilmClub.com.  Click on over and join the club.  We are also on Twitter and Facebook.

Nerd Lunch Podcast

We are moving closer and closer to episode 75. For this episode we are joined by Claymation Werewolf who writes for his own humor blog as well as The Retroist.  This week we tackle the very daunting subject of 80s sitcoms.

We talk about some of our favorites, we talk about some of our not-so-favorites. We talk about sitcom crushes and theme songs. We cover all our bases in this very broad and general discussion about sitcoms from the 1980s. It’s a lot of fun, so download it and reminisce with us.

Nerd Lunch Episode 62: More Fan Fic Reviews

Posted in movies, pop culture with tags , , , , on November 20, 2012 by Paxton

Nerd Lunch Podcast

Welcome to episode 62 of the Nerd Lunch Podcast. This week we are joined again by Kristin Reily from the Geek Girls Network.  This week, we are returning to one of my favorite topics; Fan Fiction.

Lost Boys Young Guns

We all pick a story from the Movies category over at FanFiction.net and we all discuss how awesome our stories are.  If you plan on following along, prepare yourself to be overwhelmed.  There are an unbelievable amount of properties to choose from.  For instance there are greater than 17,000 stories based on High School Musical alone.  I know.  Star Wars has nearly 30,000 stories.  It’s insane.  Also, you need to look out for what they call “slash” fiction.  Trust me on that one.

Download this episode from iTunes or listen to it on Feedburner. Not that I actually care anymore, but I think we are still on the Zune Marketplace. If it still exists.

Nerd Lunch Podcast

Welcome to Episode 61 of the Nerd Lunch podcast. This week we have Jeremy from Geek Chunks returning to the fourth chair as we all ready for battle in the TAG Super Fight Dome.

TAG versus

In the Super Fight Dome, we are given categories and we each pick a combatant with which to do battle.  Expect the categories of Celebrity Chefs, Sitcom Dads and Giant Robots, plus several others.  It’s a brawl and a free for all, so tune in to see who wins.

Download this episode from iTunes or listen to it on Feedburner. And I’m no longer really sure, but I think we are still on the Zune Marketplace.

Or, listen to it immediately right here.
