Nerd Lunch Podcast

On this extra special episode of the Nerd Lunch Podcast CT, Jeeg and I entertain fellow TAG co-host Evan from Geek Fallout: The Comic Book Episodes podcast as well as the blog Bizarro Jimmy Olsen’s Quarter Comic Quest.  We brought in Evan to finally have the “Alan Moore discussion”.

moore01

We discuss Alan Moore’s work, the comics we love, the comics we hate. We talk about his very hypocritical views on adaptations of his work, try to explain his place in the comic book creator “Hall of Fame” and why he seems to be fascinated with rape.

Lots to discuss involving Mr Moore so join us.

Nerd Lunch Episode 131: After the Show

Nerd Lunch Podcast

This week we are joined by our good friend Rob Graham. And the topic is pretty great. It’s rare when we get such a perfect pairing of subject and guest.

I know I’ve said this before, but this week’s show is easily in our top 3. Rob really killed it this week…….Hmmm, I just checked the Nerd Lunch page for this week’s show and CT put up a very cryptic message.  Weird.  He was the one who edited the show, so I’m not really sure what’s up.  I guess I’ll have to listen along with you guys.

Nerd Lunch Podcast

This week the nerds and I are joined by our good friend, and pop culture encyclopedia, William Bruce West.  William joins us to discuss a very favorite topic of ours, TV theme songs.

TV_greatest_hits

We are given categories; cartoons, action, sitcom, drama and opening narration and we all pick 2 or 3 of our favorites in each. Several of us wind up singing the songs for you. And yes, we do discuss our least favorites. But don’t worry, we leave plenty in reserve for our future SECOND Favorite TV Theme Songs episode.  And this may be our audio clip-iest episode since that board games episode we did with all the commercials.

Nerd Lunch Episode 129: Creating the Worst. Movie. EVER.

Nerd Lunch Podcast

My Jacksonville compatriot, Robert Zerbe, from To the Escape Hatch returns to the show this week. And this week, we do something a little different. This week we are doing a little Nerd Lunch Theater.  CT takes on the role of Ned Lunch whose movie mogul father has given him the job of creating a hit movie.  Unfortunately Ned Lunch is an idiot and his father has assigned Jeeg, Robert and I as producers to help make this movie.  Only, the three of us are out to sabotage the movie because we are all jealous of Ned.  So the three of us try to convince Ned to make…the Worst. Movie. EVER.

Watch as Jeeg, Robert and I shoot down all of Ned’s good ideas and suggest actors in drag to play the lead female roles. Watch us also suggest other terrible ideas for writers, directors and many, many more terrible cast members. I think we even delve into some awful, awful decisions for the soundtrack. We truly do create the worst movie ever.

And between you, me and the entire Internet, I think this is easily one of our best shows.  Top 3, at the very least.  Give it a listen.  You won’t be disappointed.

Nerd Lunch Episode 128: Kill Me Now!

Nerd Lunch Podcast

Jay from Sexy Armpit returns this week in the place of a still missing CT for a new topic we are calling “Kill Me Now!”.

All of us discuss horrible movies that we were forced to see by significant others. Stuff that we never would have willingly stepped foot in a theater and watched without ulterior motives. Expect to hear me rail about the godless awfulness of Sex and the City 2 as well as a slew of other rom-coms, Broadway movie adaptations and costume dramas. We discuss it all. Nerd to Dos include Captain America 2, Bates Motel and Veronica Mars.
