Nerd Lunch Episode 22: Creating our own team of Expendables

Nerd Lunch Podcast

This week, the Nerd Lunch crew welcomes Aaron Nix to the fourth chair. In this episode we are all tasked with creating a team of Expendables.

Western Expendables

However, unlike the movie, we aren’t creating a super team of action heroes, we are creating a super team of Western stars and a super team of Romantic Comedy stars.  I know it sounds weird, but trust me, it’s podcasting gold.  Yes, we’ve done it AGAIN.

To your ears:  You’re welcome.

Nerd Lunch Episode 21: Comic Book Scenarios

Nerd Lunch Podcast

Episode 21 has gone LIVE, my friends. This week we are down a man as Jeeg has flown off to Europe to find himself. In the meantime, we invited Vanessa and Erika from Girls Gone Geek to join us for a lively discussion about comic books.

Phantom Eagle

Specifically we are talking about comic book scenarios. What sidekick would we like to have? What would we do if we ever got super powers? What character would we kill and make sure stays dead? These are the nerdy questions we ask ourselves and sometimes answer with very little geeky rambling.  Well, some rambling.

Nerd Lunch Episode 20: Movie Sequels

Nerd Lunch Podcast

Episode 20 is now available to the legions of Nerd Lunchketeers. This week we are joined again by a fellow Jacksonvillian Robert Zerbe of To The Escape Hatch.  This week we discuss the always relevant topic of movie sequels.

War Games 2

I’ve discussed the subject of movie sequels before, but this is a more in depth investigation.  A drill down, if you will.

We talk about sequels we feel work, sequels we feel don’t work, sequels we wish had never existed and we even discuss movies that never got sequels but we wish had.  It’s a lively discussion that I think you’ll enjoy.  So join us, won’t you?

Nerd Lunch Episodes 17 & 18: Busting a list and reading some fan fiction

Posted in 24, Jack Bauer, movies, podcast, TV shows with tags , , , , , , on January 3, 2012 by Paxton

Nerd Lunch Podcast

So, I was taking a break over the holidays, but the podcast doesn’t.  So while I was out, we had two episodes go live.

Listbusters

Episode 17 went live the week of Christmas. In that episode the three of us fly without a fourth chair and decide to bust a top 25 list from IGN featuring the Top 25 Sci-Fi movies of all time.  The list is pretty good, but the top 2 spots are shocking.  And this episode is an extra LOOOONG version as it clocks in around 1.5 hours due to the number of movies we begin discussing.  Come see what Sci-Fi classics the three of us can’t stand.

Torchwood LA

Going live this week is Episode 18.  In that episode we are joined again by Jay from SexyArmpit.com.  In this episode we all point our browsers towards FanFiction.net to feast our hungry eyeballs on the awesome buffet that can be found there.  We all pick a fan fiction story about a favorite TV property, read it, and review it for the rest of the group.  It’s a lot of fun.  Check it out to see who wears the pants in the Horde and if Jack Bauer accepts an invitation to join Torchwood.

Our newest podcast is live. This week we are joined by Jeremy from Geek Chunks as we put one of the most controversial directors of our time on pop culture trial, Mr Michael Bay.

I am Michael Bay

Jeeg is the prosecutor, CT is the defender and I’m the judge.  Regardless of your stance on Mr Bay, I guarantee you your views will be corroborated by someone in this podcast.  So join us to see if based on our verdict, Michael Bay will be allowed to continue to make movies.
