Oh wow, Rabbi, I didn't know that. I did some preliminary research online, but could never find clear and precise instructions like you just gave me. Thank you for the info.

Hi. Came upon this while searching for any info on K for Passover Coke Zero. Just so you (and your readers) know, there is no such thing as "kosher Coke." Coke is kosher all year around; the issue is only that there are special dietary rules and customs that affect consumption during the holiday of Passover, in addition to the ones that are in force all the time. The difference has nothing to do with the product being "blessed by a rabbi." A rabbi (or someone else) must inspect the food to make sure it complies with all the rules (year-round and/or Passover) but that's it. There is no blessing involved. I'm not sure where this pervasive rumor got started, but it has been used by antisemites (not suggesting that in this case, of course) and others, including Jews who don't know what they're talking about, incorrectly. I wish it was true, though, since, as a rabbi, I could just make something kosher through some sort of blessing! Have a happy and kosher Passover.
